How to Make Your Computer Run Faster

All of our computers get to running a lot less smoothly after awhile. We tend to call our local computer technician and pay their fees. Some people just go out and buy a totally new computer. STOP!!! Don't do either one of these. With a few steps your computer will be running a lot smoother and faster.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

1. Go to your start menu and go to programs, accessories, system tools, and then run the scan disc program. What this will do is check your files and folders for any errors. If an error is detected then it will prompt you to fix it.
2. Go to the start menu and go to settings and then the control panel. From there you can go to the internet options. From there you will want to delete the browser history, temporary internet files, and the cookies. This will free up anything that the internet browser has saved in cache memory.
3. (For the remainder of the programs you can go to www.download.com and type in the program to download.)
   
   Next you will want to run AVG Antivirus. This will scan your entire computer for any viruses. Computer viruses tend to slow down a computer and can sometimes also do some damage to it as well.
4. From there you will want to download SpyBot. What this will do os scan your computer for any types of spyware or adware infections. Another good spyware program is spyware begone.
5. From here you will want to download CCleaner. This program has a cleaner as well as a program that cleans up and repairs the registry. Other programs that are good for this are Wise Disc Cleaner and Abexo Free Registry Cleaner.
6. Delete any unnecessary files and folders that are not needed.
7. Go back to the systems tools that we had previously accessed. Run the Disc Defragmenter.
