Oily hair can be difficult to manage. Whether it be styling, shampooing, or getting it to look healthy and dry in the hairline you have to stay on top of it with the right products and daily regimen.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Shampoo (recommended by your hair stylist)
  • Dry shampoo (recommended by your hair stylist)
  • Light conditioners
  • Styling products
  1. Step 1

Shampoo regularly with a shampoo that is specific to your needs. This could be as often as daily. Most shampoos will tell you what they are made for on the front of the bottle. Find one that is made for oily hair & use it daily. Rinse with cool water.

  2. Step 2

Use a light conditioner from mid-shaft to ends of the hair. Do not get conditioner on the root area, at least 1-2" from scalp. Rinse with cool water.

  3. Step 3

Apply the styling products made for your hair. Use products that are oil-Free in the root area.

Tips & Warnings
  • Check your diet & fitness program, the foods that you eat can increase the amount of oil your body produces. Keep this in check with a well balanced diet- Check out Ehow.com for advice on a balanced diet.
  • Consult your physician and hair stylist to see if there are any other recommendations for managing this condition.
  • If you can not shampoo for a day use a dry shampoo, this will absorb the oil at your root area making the hair manageable.
