How To make Beach Cupcakes. I did this for a bridal shower, it was a luau theme. I read online somewhere how you crush up grahm crackers to give the cupcakes a sandy feel. My mom had a better idea, instead of using grahm crackers, get vanillia wafers and crush them up in a food processer. It gave it a more sandy beach feel to the party. If you plan on having a pool party, a luau party, or any beach themed party this would be a hit dessert. It was at the shower! I did half chocolate and vanilla because some people dont care for chocolate, and others dont care for vanilla. I just kept it simple.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 Box of white cake mix
  • 1 box of chocolate cake mix
  • Icing (I did cream cheese whipped -it was on sale at Martin's) Any flavor of your choice.
  • Umbrellas (just like in alcholic drinks) -You can find them at a party store.
  1. Step 1

The first step is to follow the directions on the cake mix boxes. Just remember your pouring the batter into cupcake cups.

  2. Step 2

If you have a food processor, it makes it that much easier, esp for a party. So while the cupcakes are baking in the oven, I take this time to crush up the vanillia wafers. Stick a few in a time so it won't get stuck and process it.

  3. Step 3

Then when your done put it in a bowl. After the cupcakes are done and completely cool, icing the cupcakes first. Dip the cupcakes into the bowl of sand, and then when it comes party time stick in your umbrellas so in the meantime it fits in your tupperware until your party begins. It gives a great beachy feel to the party. Enjoy!

on 6/26/2008 You could also dye the icing blue (for water).
