You will make 1 batch chocolate chip cookies according to your own recipe, but you will make a few substitutions.

Instead of using all white flour, use half white flour and an equal amount of whole wheat flour.

Cut the amount of oil, margarine, or butter in half, and substitute applesauce for the other half.

Grind 1/4 cup of the flax seeds in a blender. Add the ground flax seed to the flour mixture. If you have trouble grinding it in the blender, you can add up to 1/4 cup of oats to the blender to keep it moving through the blades.

Add the remaining 1/4 cup whole flax seeds to the mixture and follow the recipe as you normally do. These tasty treats often inspire a movement within two hours.
