How to change the password to a alternate user account without knowing the password from command prompt!!!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Windows 2000 or later
  1. Step 1

    Click on Start Menu and go to run

  2. Step 2

    Type in CMD in the bar

  3. Step 3

    Once in Command Prompt type Net User and hit enter. A list of users will show on screen.

  4. Step 4

    Decide which account you want to change the password for and type in Net User (Name of account) * then hit enter.

  5. Step 5

    Add new password and then you are done.

Tips & Warnings
  • There will be some accounts that are unable to change passwords from this method, i.e., the help assistance or any remote services.

on 7/23/2009 Hey i did step 4 then wat i just put in any letter or word for the new one password
