Whether you give it much thought or not, everyone will end up having to deal with pests such as ants one time or another in their lives. In order to cut out the march of these creepy crawlies, there are a couple of smart steps that you follow to stop them in their tracks before they even make their way into your house.

• Cayenne Pepper
• A watchful eye

1. To begin with, if you already know a couple of the areas around your home where these tiny little ants make their way in, then make sure you take note of them. Since you do not want to have tons of chemicals around your house to treat insects such as ants with, you will be happy to know that you can deter these little critters with something simple and household ready such as cayenne pepper.
2. Once you have a good amount of cayenne pepper to use, go ahead and make your way outside and douse all of the areas where you think you know that the ants make their way in. If you do not know just where they come in, then you may want to make sure that you have enough cayenne pepper to make a good line around the perimeter of your house.
3. Spicy and Handy! Ants simply do not like cayenne pepper. By placing this all around your home, you are putting up a barrier that is chemical free that will also serve a purpose for your entire family by keeping the ants out.

Tips & Warnings

• Do not be afraid to spread the cayenne pepper liberally. It will not hurt anyone, and it will do the trick.
• Do take precaution if there is an area outside of your home where small children play. This can be done by making sure that any of their toys are far enough away from your line of cayenne pepper.
