My friends all had the same feeling about a turkey burger, it was bland with no variety of flavor like a regular hamburger. They don't say that anymore since they tasted my version of the hearty turkey burger.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 lb. of Ground Turkey (Italian seasoned)
  • 1/2 cup of plain bread crumbs
  • 1/3 of a sweet Yellow Onion
  • 1 teaspoon of Soy Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 heaping tablespoon of Ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon of Olive Oil
  1. Step 1

Combine the Ground Turkey, Bread Crumbs, & Onions with your hands in a large mixing bowl.

  2. Step 2

Add the Soy Sauce, Worcestershire, ketchup, and Olive Oil to the meat mixture. As you are doing this make sure that the liquid ingredients are well incorporated.

  3. Step 3

Pat the patties to the size of your preference. For a normal size Burger, this recipe should yield 4 burgers.

  4. Step 4

Spray the grill with an olive oil spray and then put the burgers on the grill and let it cook for 5 to 8 minutes per side (depending on the heat). Remember to only turn your burgers once, this keeps it from becoming too dry. Once done they can be accompanied by tomato, lettuce, and pickle. My family likes this on whole wheat buns, but you can also use regular white buns.

Tips & Warnings
  • While mixing the raw ingredients I spray my hands with olive oil so that the mixture will not stick to my fingers.
  • Do not press the burgers down while they are cooking so that the juice will stay in and only turn once to prevent from having a dry burger.
  • The olive oil helps build moisture in the burger.
  • Spray your grill and spatula with oil for nonstick purposes.
