Step 1
Many people choose a major that moves right along with something that they love to do. For instance, a person who loves to donate time with the local animal shelter on the weekends and ends up calling the veterinarian when they have a question about their own pet, probably has a good idea of what interests them. These choices and abilities are hard to come by. If thinking about things you love to do through high school just won't get you to the major of choice, how about thinking of the class that you aced, naturally? For instance, if you've gotten straight A's in Biology because it was easy for you, and you kind of liked it, then that is a great possibility as a major.

Step 2
If you're a person who is known to be an under-achiever, whose grades were not near A's or B's throughout high school, then perhaps you might think of entering the community college. If you attend that one for a year and earn straight A's and B's, you will most likely transfer to a university or college more of your choosing. The major, that wonderful course of study might still be something to do with business or perhaps hotel or restaurant management.

Step 3
Reputable higher institutions offer programs in the hospitality industries. Moving right along, there are other life choices just as respectable. There is always a need for cosmetologists, mechanics, construction contractors of all types.
