How to Make Chocolate Playdough (Scented, Non-Edible but Non-Toxic)

Playdough stimulates creativity, enhances hand/eye coordination, and is just plain fun! Your little one will love Chocolate Scented Playdough!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Bowl
  • Pan
  • Measuring Cup
  • Tablespoon
  • Microwave/Stove
  • Countertop / Table
  • 1 1/4 cups of flour
  • 1/2 cup of cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup of salt
  • 1/2 tbsp cream of tartar
  • 1 1/2 tbsp cooking oil
  • 1 cup of water
  1. Step 1
     

    Gather bowl, pan, spoon, and all of the ingredients necessary.

  2. Step 2
    Cocoa powder scents the dough!

    Measure out and mix the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and cream of tartar in the pan.

  3. Step 3
     

    Measure out and boil the water, either in the microwave or a separate pan on the stove.

  4. Step 4
     

    Measure out and add the vegetable oil and boiling water. Stir very quickly and mix well.

  5. Step 5
     

    Cook over low heat, stir until the dough becomes a ball.

  6. Step 6
     

    Allow the playdough to cool.

  7. Step 7
     

    Give to kids to enjoy! Let their creativity run!

Tips & Warnings
  • Playdough can be stored in an airtight container.
  • It tastes horrible, but it non-toxic.
