How to maintain a trumpet

Trumpets just like anything else will not perform 100% without proper care. In fact without proper care you will be looking at expensive repairs that could have been prevented given the right maintenance.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

1. First you need to obtain valve oil and slide grease. Remove the slide and valve stems on your trumpet. Grease slow moving parts and oil fast moving parts lightly about once a month. Tip you can even use vasoline.
2. Greasing the slides prevents them from getting stuck. Do not wash the insides of the trumpet
3. Place small drops of oil in the waterkeys as well.
