How to Make Layered Hamburger Casserole

Layered hamburger casserole is a gift from heaven. Simply put all the ingredients into a slow cooker, turn it on and let it cook. Several hours later, you have a wonderful meal that tastes so much better than fast food and costs so much less.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Slow cooker
  • Knife
  • Vegetable peeler
  • Cutting board
  • Skillet
  • Slotted cooking spoon
  • Can opener
  • 2 or 3 potatoes
  • 2 or 3 stalks of celery
  • 2 or 3 carrots or equal amounts of baby carrots
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 pound of ground beef
  • 1 can whole kernel corn (or English peas)
  • Garlic salt
  • Pepper
  • 1 can condensed tomato soup
  1. Step 1

    Peel and rinse potatoes. Slice into rounds and spread in the bottom of the slow cooker. Sprinkle with garlic salt and pepper.

  2. Step 2

    Rinse and slice the celery. Spread on top of potatoes. Sprinkle with garlic salt and pepper.

  3. Step 3

    Scrape the carrots and slice into small rounds or chop baby carrots in half. Spread on top of celery. Sprinkle with garlic salt and pepper.

  4. Step 4

    Brown the ground beef. Drain and spread on top of vegetables. Sprinkle with garlic salt and pepper.

  5. Step 5

    Open and drain the whole kernel corn or English peas. Spread across the meat. Sprinkle with garlic salt and pepper.

  6. Step 6

    Open the tomato soup and pour into measuring cup. Add one can of water and mix. Pour over meat and vegetables.

  7. Step 7

    Plug in the slow cooker and set it to medium to high heat. Cook for 6 to 8 hours. Adjust the temperature of the crock pot for cooking; if you are cooking for 6 hours, set to high heat. If you are cooking for 8 hours, set to medium heat.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you don’t like corn or peas, try other vegetables.
