Things You'll Need:
- skill, a board, a leash (optional), and a wetsuit or trunks.
-
Step 1
first: learn how to paddle. Practice paddling around when it's flat and when it sucks in the water. Make sure you go out when you won't be in the way of actual surfers, its really annoying.
-
Step 2
second: after learning how to paddle you should practice in the white wash. practice trying to catch it and standing on it. practice maintaining your balance. don't go to the line up if you suck, you'll just get in the way.
-
Step 3
step 3: make you're you learn common etiquette. don't snake anybody, if you snake a wave from somebody you're risking a whupping. don't get in front of someone riding on a wave. and don't act like a hot shot when you're a kook (especially a longboard kook).
