A recent study in glamour magazine showed that 50% of women feel that seeing dark roots was cool. The other 50% disagreed. Okay it was more like 56/ 44 in favor of no roots. So what can you do to avoid roots? Listed in this article are your options to avoiding dark roots when hair coloring.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
When highlighting choose a color that will grow out softly without making the root area obvious. You do this by keeping the depth of color as close to your natural as possible.
Step2
When highlighting use a smaller section with the highlights. The smaller the sections the softer the effect. This will grow out softer making the root area less obvious.
Step3
Stick with the same contrasting colors and have your hair done every 2-3 weeks.
Step4
Balayage instead of highlighting. This is a softer technique in lightening and looks more natural with your own color.
