The smell of garlic on your hands isn't so pleasant when you've been done with dinner for hours. Here's how to get rid of the lingering garlicky smell.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • lemon juice
  • a silver spoon
  • running water
  • hand soap
  • hand towel
  1. Step 1

Hold the lemon juice and spoon in your hands and slowly pour lemon juice onto the spoon as you rub your fingers against the spoon.

  2. Step 2

Rub thoroughly. The lemon juice adds acidity to the garlic on your hands and interacts with the spoon to remove this unwanted smell.

  3. Step 3

After having rubbed thoroughly, you can rub your fingers/hands with the spoon alone until the rest of the odor is gone.

  4. Step 4

Now, wash hands with hand soap and dry with a hand towel. The garlic is now an odor of the past!!!

Tips & Warnings
  • If you have open wounds or cuts on your hands, the lemon juice may sting.

on 12/9/2008 This advice is quite sour! ;-) I'm at a lost as to the function of the spoon though? Really, should this surpise anyone? Great article.
