How to Clean Dentures
Dentures are expensive, and the last thing anyone wants to do is damage them or break them. With proper care, your dentures should last about five to seven years, especially if you go in for an annual checkup -- by keeping your mouth healthy, your dentures will tend to fit for a longer period of time. Good cleaning practices help as well.

1
Remove and rinse your dentures under running water after eating.
-
2
Brush your dentures at least once daily with a soft-bristled toothbrush. You can use either a special toothpaste formulated for dentures, or a mild dishwashing soap.

3
Soak dentures overnight in a glass of water. If you clean them before soaking, you don't need any special cleaners. If you choose to use a soaking product, such as Efferdent, be sure to rinse them thoroughly under running water before putting them in again.

Tips & Warnings
When you're not wearing them, dentures need to be soaking in liquid. This helps them keep their shape.
Coffees, teas, sodas, smoking and red wine stain dentures, just as they do teeth.
Never scrape your dentures with sharp instruments in an attempt to remove hard deposits. Instead, take them to a dental professional for cleaning.
Avoid regular toothpaste -- it's more abrasive and can scratch your dentures.
Dentures can break if dropped. When you are handling them or brushing them, place something soft underneath, such as a towel.
