Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Things You’ll Need:
- An Open Mind
- Paper
- Pen
- Courage
Step1
Personal Development, It’s Okay to be Yourself!
Let’s face it; we have a tendency to lose touch with who we are and what we have to offer. We forget about ourselves because we are too worried about the needs of others or just simply other needs. It’s time to put a stop to this madness!
Step2
What does being ourselves have to do with loving ourselves?
Well, it’s quite simple; in order to be yourself you have to love yourself. One cannot “be him/her self” if one does not love and appreciate their qualities.
Step3
How on earth can we love and appreciate ourselves?
The fact is, too many people nowadays have a problem with themselves. Why? We don’t appreciate and love ourselves. No need to worry folks, you can finally be yourself!
Step4
Appreciate Yourself, the How to Guide
In order to appreciate yourself you need to know and acknowledge all your positive attributes. A good way of acknowledging yourself is to write down all your positive qualities and actually see it on paper. Another affective way is to talk about you. Wait I don’t mean brag about what you have done or accomplished. I mean, grab a buddy, spouse, sibling, whomever, and acknowledge some of their positive attributes and the correct response should be a list of your positive attributes. Just remember to say it out loud, you can even say it to yourself, actually, saying it to yourself consistently would be an ideal way of finding your true self.
Step5
Speak Your Mind, Speak Your Truth
After you recognize that you have a lot to offer, you will be more comfortable with yourself. The comfort level will then allow you to speak your mind and be yourself. To whomever this may concern, take your time and get to know yourself. You will notice a great change in your environment and the people around you. Most importantly, you will learn to love you. Good Luck and feel free to leave any questions or comments about this topic or a topic that’s rendering in your mind.

on 5/2/2008 Your article was very good, I would like to share some of my thoughts here.
Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling five balls in the air. You name them - work, family, health, friends, and spirit - and you're keeping all of these in the air. You will soon understand that work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back. But the other four balls - family, health, friends, and spirit are made of glass. If you drop one of these, they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged, or even shattered. They will never be the same. You must understand that and strive for balance in your life.
Thank you for investing your time to read this comment.
