Things You'll Need:
- Five gallon bucket of Water
- Legal fireworks
- Fireplace lighter or pyro torch for extended reach
- Trash bag
- Concrete or well watered lawns
-
Step 1
Place the firework on its bottom or stand. Make sure you lay the firework on a hard, level surface with no other firework or flammable material. Dry leaves and foliage are especially dangerous. If the plants and grass are yellow and dead, that is not a good place to set off fireworks
-
Step 2
If you are using your lawn make a flat surface using a wide piece of lumber across the grass. Make sure you soak the lumber with water before you place any firework on it.
-
Step 3
Make sure everyone stands at least 10 feet away.
-
Step 4
Fuses of today are very sensitive so make sure you hold the flame to the tip of the fuse. Once you see it ignite, sprint away in a safe direction. If the fuse burns down or does not light, don’t kick or touch it. It’s best to douse it in water
-
Step 5
Once you finished lighting your fireworks, make sure you water down your pile for at least 10 minutes. You don’t want to chance anything re-lighting
-
Step 6
If you are using sparklers, people should stand at least 10 feet apart.
-
Step 7
Place all used sparklers in a bucket or water.
