Webkins

Webkins have become a national craze. They are stuffed animals you buy and then register online in order to play games with and take care of them.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A Webkins stuffed animal with an unopened, unregistered tag.
  • Internet access.
  1. Step 1

Obtain a Webkinz. Many, many retail stores now carry these stuffed animals, such as Hallmark. A lot of gift shops have them at hotels and hospitals, as do department stores and even place you would not expect, like music and game stores. Libby Lu is another popular destination to get your Webkins. And they are available at online auction sites too, such as ebay.

  2. Step 2

Choose the type of Webkins you want. There are dozens of animals ranging from a panda to a pink poodle. Many have been retired and can only be found on auction sites. You can obtain as many as you like and register them to your account.

  3. Step 3

Make absolutely sure your Webkins has an unregistered code on it's tag. These tags are sealed in plastic. Once this code has been registered, it will no longer be able to be registered again.

  4. Step 4

Go to www.webkins.com and register your new "pet." If you do not have an account, select New Member. Once you have an account, select Login.

  5. Step 5

Once your Webkins is registered, you receive its birth certificate. There are a multitude of things to do on the site. You can take it to the doctor, feed, it, earn Webkins cash to buy it things, and much more.

Tips & Warnings
  • Only buy a Webkins with an unregistered code. Once the Webkins is registered to an account, it can no longer be registered.
  • The actual stuffed animal is not too durable. Look for tears before buying, and then take special care of it.

on 9/29/2009 Hi honey - sorry if this is a kind of an off topic questions. But what is actually fun about a virtual animal? What could be more fun than a real little puppet or kitten? The love they give you could never be replaced by some cute pictures on a website could they?
One thing related to your article I think it is a little bit superficial. What can you actually do on this web site, what kind of things can you play?
