How to Make Marshmallow Toffee

If your sweet tooth is calling out for something new and different, make a batch of marshmallow toffee. The gooey marshmallow center is surrounded by smooth, creamy toffee and a crispy outer coating. Things You'll Need

  • Butter or margarine
  • Toffee candy
  • Condensed milk
  • Large marshmallows
  • Puffed rice breakfast cereal

      Combine the butter with the toffee and condensed milk in a double boiler. Heat the mixture over low heat, stirring constantly, until the ingredients are melted together, about 10 to 15 minutes.

      Pour some of the puffed rice cereal on a baking sheet, making a thin, even layer.

      Dip each large marshallow into the warm toffee, allowing the excess to drip back into the double boiler. Immediately roll the coated marshmallow in the puffed rice cereal.

      Place the dipped marshmallow toffee on the waxed paper to cool and repeat until all of the toffee has been used.

      Store the marshmallow toffee in a sealed container and serve it at room temperature.

Tips & Warnings

  • Marshmallow toffee can be made ahead of time. Simply place it in a sealed container or a resealable plastic bag and store it in the refrigerator or freezer.

  • To make Christmas marshmallow toffee, look for special holiday colored, red and green Rice Krispies.

  • For smaller marshmallow toffees, cut each large marshmallow in half before dipping it in the toffee mixture.
