Things You'll Need:
- Staples
- Jewelry pliers
- Stretch cord
- Embroidery floss or ribbon
- Jewelry clasp
- Seed beads
- Patterned paper
- Scissors
- Glue
-
Step 1
Fill a traditional stapler with silver staples or consider using colored staples to create a more vibrant bracelet. (See Resources below.)
-
Step 2
Press the stapler several times (as if you're stapling pieces of paper together) and gather the closed staples that you've just created.
-
Step 3
Thread them together like links in a chain until the bracelet is long enough. Use jewelry pliers to press the ends completely shut so they don't snag your clothing. You can also connect the staples with small knots of stretch cord, embroidery floss or narrow ribbon.
-
Step 4
Create a bracelet "closure" by attaching the 2 end staples to the halves of a metal jewelry clasp or by tying it closed with a piece of string or colorful ribbon. (See Resources below.)
-
Step 5
Add a dainty, decorative touch by separating several staples while they're still in their original "U" shape. String 2 to 3 colorful seed beads onto the center of the staple, then manually bend it closed and attach as usual.
-
Step 6
Give the staples added interest with patterned paper if you don't have seed beads on hand. Simply cut narrow strips of paper about half the width of the closed staple. Trim those to 1-inch lengths. Wrap a strip around the center of the staple and secure with liquid glue.
-
Step 7
Attach the staples with string or stretch cord to form the bracelet.
