DVDs are great, but inconvenient when you're on the road. So you bought an iPod or iPhone to slim things down. The last thing you want to do is buy or rent iPod movies when you own the DVD. Use Wondershare to burn your DVDs to iPod format and save the expense.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Load the DVD Video folder. You can load directly from a DVD, or a DVD Video folder on your hard drive. Click on the "Load File" icon to open the file browser window and navigate to your file.

  2. Step 2

Find the clip(s) you want to convert. All of the titles in the Video folder will appear in a list. Select the title name and click the play button to play it back. If you want to preview an individual title, click on the "+" sign next to the title name.

  3. Step 3

Edit the video appearance. Open the editing window with the "Edit" icon and crop any unwanted area pixels (e.g., widescreen bands at the top and bottom of the screen.) Click on the "Effect" tab to adjust brightness, contrast, saturation and volume.

  4. Step 4

Check the titles you want to convert. To select them all, right click on the DVD File List and choose "Check All" from the pop-up menu.

  5. Step 5

Set the format options. You can find default settings for specific devices in the Format pulldown menu. You can adjust the settings manually with the "Settings" button. Check "Merge Into One File" if you want the entire movie to play back as one file.

  6. Step 6

Click the "Start" button to output your file. Click the "Output" button to change the folder for your finished file.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can capture screenshots of the DVD using the "Snapshot" button in Wondershare's preview window. Drag the scrubber to advance the movie to the frame you want to snap. Then click on the "Snapshot" button.
  • You can edit every chapter on the DVD at once by collapsing the titles list. Click the "-" sign next to the DVD folder icon to hide the list. Any changes will be applied universally.
  • Wondershare's DVD to iPod ripper doesn't convert copy protected disks.
