The color code of tactical mindset is a coding system used by law enforcement, military and other combat organizations to condition the mind for the state it needs to be in to engage in combat or other tactical procedures. This includes S.W.A.T. team calls and other law enforcement missions.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Know the white mindset. This is at a completely relaxed state where you are oblivious to your surroundings. Ideally, you should never be in this mindset, as it is dangerous for your personal safety. This can also be classified as day-dreaming, concentrating only on yourself or looking at the ground.
Step2
Understand the yellow mindset. This is where you are aware of your surroundings. You notice suspicious people, you are aware of who or what is behind you, and you notice safe places to retreat to if necessary. This is the best state to be in as a concerned citizen or aware individual.
Step3
Become familiar with the orange mindset. This is explained by the possibility of a threat, but the source is not yet identified. On an intuitive level, this is when the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. When you know something is not right, but you have yet to see what the threat is, you are in the orange mindset. You need to be prepared to put an action plan into play.
Step4
Learn the red mindset. This is where an imminent threat is identified and you are armed with a weapon and a plan of attack. You are carrying out this attack, whether defensively or offensively, at this moment. This is the mindset where decisions are made quickly and decisively.
Step5
Use the black mindset intelligently. This is the mindset where you come to the end of the confrontation. Law enforcement does a debriefing at this point to go over the events and find the good and the bad of the tactics used. This is where you can assess the outcome and determine how you could have handled the situation differently.
