When it's time to buy a new vehicle, think about purchasing the comfort and features of a Lincoln. The Lincoln make of luxury automobiles can be easily broken down to help select the right vehicle model for specific needs. Lincoln offers 5 models in the 2008 line, with many desirable features. Although Lincolns are more expensive than many other automobiles, the cars are sturdy, safe and comfortable.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Compare the 5 models of Lincoln luxury vehicles. Each model offers a different style to meet the owner's needs. The MKZ and the Town Car are 4-door cars. The MKX and the Navigator are SUV's. The Mark LT is a 4-door pickup truck.
Step2
Pick the model that suits your lifestyle. Each model has a variety of features specific to that vehicle. A navigation system, SIRIUS satellite radio or a sunroof are available features on most Lincolns.
Step3
Read the new vehicle limited warranty that is provided through Ford Motor Company on all new Lincoln vehicles. The warranty is broken down into 5 parts: bumper-to-bumper, powertrain, safety restraint, corrosion and emissions. This coverage is based on the combination of number of years the vehicle is owned and the number of miles it is driven.
Step4
Think safety. All Lincolns are average to perfect in government safety ratings. The Town Car scores 5 out of 5 stars. The long-standing safety record of the Lincoln is the greatest strength that they offer.
Step5
Look at the traditional style of the Lincoln vehicles. One of the company's weaknesses is that lack of hip style. They tend not to appeal to the young. Another weakness of the Lincoln is the fact that it continues to be 1 step behind its competition with new features. Lincoln prides itself on being a luxury vehicle that is comparable to Lexus and Cadillac. Yet Lincoln is a few years behind on offering luxuries such as advanced braking systems and stability control.
Step6
Remember resale when considering your new purchase. Thinking that this vehicle will be around for many years may not be reality. Your wants and needs change over time. Lincoln ranks in the 50th percentile on resale value. The Town Car is a bit lower in the 30th percentile.
Step7
Test drive the specific vehicle and negotiate the price at the time of purchase. Prices will vary based upon supply and additional options you select.
