The bass guitar is a wonderful instrument that creates a rich and deep sound. It is an essential instrument in many different types of bands such as rock bands, country bands and rap bands. The bass is the instrument that helps maintain the beat for the entire band throughout a song. Here are some steps on how to identify the parts of a bass guitar.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Locate the body of the bass guitar. It is the entire bottom part of the guitar. It is usually made of wood.
Step2
Find the bridge. It is usually a small piece that is located at the foot of the body of the bass guitar. Its main purpose is to hold the strings down at the end of the guitar.
Step3
Follow the strings upward a little to find the pickups of the bass guitar. There are usually two pickups. These are right above the bridge and are usually black. The pickups hold the strings up off the body of the bass guitar.
Step4
Turn the knobs on the body of the bass guitar to control the volume and control the sounds and pitches of the bass guitar. There should also be a button for the lows, the mids and the highs.
Step5
Identify the four strings and how they stretch up the neck of the bass guitar. The neck is the long part of the bass guitar. All bass guitars have three or four strings.
Step6
Note the top of the bass. This is the head of the guitar and contains the tuning keys. You can turn the tuning key to adjust the sounds of the bass guitar.
