Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Decide if you want to pay for your software or use free software like Picasa. You can also use regular slideshow software like PowerPoint or iMovie I(see Resources). Choose quick, user- friendly software that is easy to learn.
Step2
Try a demonstration of the software in the store or see if there is a free demonstration online. Search for a trial version of the software if you intend to buy.
Step3
Visit a photo forum and read reviews and advice from other users. Pay special attention to the negative comments people make and why they dislike the programs.
Step4
Use slideshow software that is compatible with your computer. Make sure you have enough memory and RAM to run the program properly.
Step5
Determine how many photos you want in your show and how many seconds you want each slide to show. Pick a program that meets your quantity and time requirements.
Step6
Verify that the slideshow will play on a television and on a computer when you copy it to a CD. Check the quality of the slides on each to ensure the photos are not fuzzy.
Step7
Pick slideshow software that allows you to add music and special effects when changing from one photo to another. Some slideshow software includes themes and templates to assist you.
Step8
Edit the slideshow, adding and deleting photos or changing the slide order. You want a program that imports photos quickly so you don't have to wait a long period of time between each photo upload and edit.
