Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Place a 9 by 11-inch piece of brown paper down on a hard surface. This will be your background for your turkey.

  2. Step 2

Lay your hand down on the piece of paper. Put your hand palm down on the paper with your fingers spread wide apart. Take a dark colored marker and trace the outline of your hand. If the hand you're tracing is small enough, draw two turkeys on the paper so they're facing each other.

  3. Step 3

Draw a face and legs on the turkey. The turkey's face will be where you traced your thumb. Use the marker to draw eyes and a beak. Next underneath the bottom of the turkey's body, draw two legs with feet. A simple stick drawing will suffice.

  4. Step 4

Cut out feathers with different colored paper. Using a variety of construction paper colors like red, orange and yellow, take scissors and cut out several feather shaped pieces of paper. Glue these feathers down onto the four fingers that make up the turkey wings and to the turkey's body. Allow your children to glue as many as they'd like.

  5. Step 5

Color the background of the turkey drawing. Let the children draw whatever they'd like in the background to complete the picture, like a farm or barn.
