Poinsettia pop-ups add a festive touch to your holiday greeting cards. You can create your own poinsettia, use a photo from a magazine or a printout of a poinsettia for this project. Attach it to your card with an accordion-folded card stock to create the pop-up action.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Start with the basic greeting card. Use a sheet of card stock folded in half and design the outside of your card. If you use a poinsettia design on the outside, use the same design for the pop-up on the inside.

  2. Step 2

Cut a separate piece of card stock that's long and thin. Fold it accordion-style by bending it back and forth over itself. If you use green card stock, the accordion fold can make the stem of your poinsettia.

  3. Step 3

Glue or staple one end of the accordion card stock to the inside the pop-up card.

  4. Step 4

Mount a picture of a poinsettia to a piece of card stock so it isn't so easily torn or bent out of shape. Enhance the 3D effect of your pop-up card by layering several sizes of poinsettia, from largest to smallest.

  5. Step 5

Staple or glue the poinsettia to the end of your accordion-folded card stock.

  6. Step 6

Compress your accordion folds so the poinsettia sits flat inside the card. When the card opens, the accordion fold will release and the poinsettia will pop out in greeting.
