1
Get a ball of clay that's about the size of the circle formed when you touch your pointer finger with your thumb. Round the ball of clay, then shape it into an oval. This is the first step in making a 3D head out of clay.
-
2
Use the freezer pop stick to make eyes. Press the freezer pop stick into the clay twice on one side to make the outline of the eye on one side of the face, and do the same on the other side of the face. Use the freezer pop stick to form the mouth beneath the eyes.

3
Pinch a small portion of the clay between the eyes and the mouth to form the nose. Do this carefully so you do not make the clay crack.
-
4
Push the bottom front of the clay oval gently between your finger and thumb to create the chin. Do the same with the bottom back of the oval to create the neck. The neck should be thicker than the chin.
-
5
Sculpt the mouth of your 3D clay head, and the lower lip as well. Create a horizontal line with your freezer pop stick. Create the lower lip by pushing the clay up above the chin, and almost touches the top lip. Do not disturb the chin as you do so.
-
6
Do the same technique to create the eyes of the 3D clay head. Gently shape the clay to give definition for the eyes, the use the end of the paper clip to poke pupils in the middle if each eye.
-
7
Smooth every rough edge, so that the details on your 3D clay head looks more realistic.
