1
Decide what the meaning of living rich means to you, what makes you the happiest and makes you feel most at peace with your life. Maybe it means that you get to have name brand things all the time. Perhaps it's a hobby, a sense of well being when you are in a particular place or doing a certain thing. Focus on this to feel that you are living rich.
-
2
Keep track of all of your expenses. Pay attention to things that you are spending money on that don't help you to live rich. Maybe you don't really need a five dollar coffee every morning.
-
-
3
Consider your bills. Look for ways you can save money by conserving electricity. You can then use the money you saved to live rich and have more things you want or do things that you enjoy.
-
4
Pay yourself first. This means to put money in savings when you first receive your paycheck, before you even pay your bills or buy things that you want and need. Save money whenever you can. When you really need the money later, you'll have a nice cushion in your savings account.
-
5
Shop in places where you never have to pay the full retail price for things you want. If you see something you want that is currently full price, wait a few weeks until it's on sale. Buy clothing items that flatter your figure and make you look great. Even the most expensive clothing you can find won't always look good or make you feel good.
-
6
Rent things for a fraction of what they would cost brand new. If you need a fabulous bag, a gorgeous necklace or a tuxedo for an upcoming event, you can rent one instead of paying hundreds or even thousands of dollars. You probably will only use it once anyway.
-
7
Wait to buy extravagant or expensive purchases. Find out what it is going to cost you. Think about it for a few days or even a week. Decide whether it is really going to affect your life in the way you think it will. Make sure there isn't a better way you could use the money.
