Back in the 70s and 80s there was a trend where some people liked to listen to the lyrics on their cassettes backwards. It made some really crazy sounding music. Today with a little practice you can listen to mp3s backwards. But you're probably going to be out of luck if you're looking for satanic messages.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Purchase yourself good software to edit audio files if you want to listen to mp3s backwards. You can buy this software online and in some specialty computer stores. Occasionally office supply stores will also carry them, but these stores focus more on business software.
Step2
Read reviews to help you pick a suitable editing software program. If you're new to editing audio files, you'll want something fairly that's easy to learn and use. Goldwave has received great reviews, as has Soundplay.
Step3
Install the software on your computer. Download mp3 files from the Internet or rip a CD and save the desired songs as mp3s. You can do this by using programs you may already have on your computer like Winamp, Windows Media Player or iTunes.
Step4
Open the mp3 in the editing program. Select the reverse editing feature, often found under the effects menu. Then play the edited file to listen to mp3s backwards.

Tips & Warnings

  • You might be able to find some free audio editing software online to help you with your quest to listen to mp3s backwards. Just be careful about downloading anything to your computer from an unknown source since there's always the risk of getting a computer virus. A good choice is Audacity.
