A quick rainy day project for anyone age 6 to 60 is to make a duct tape wrist band. Before you scoff at wearing gray accessories, be aware that duct tape is available in a variety of primary and pastel colors. Whether you're a duct tape fashionista or simply in need of some extra wrist support, a duct tape wrist band can be just the answer you're looking for.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

    Narrow Wrist Band

  1. Step 1

Wrap a measuring tape around your wrist. Tighten as necessary to size your wrist band. For example, to use as a wrist support, you'll want a firm but not tight fit. To use as a bracelet, you'll want a more loose fit. Take note of the measurement.

  2. Step 2

Measure a piece of duct tape 1 inch longer than the desired length for the wrist band. Cut the duct tape.

  3. Step 3

Lay the band on a countertop sticky side up. Cut a notch ½ inch by ½ inch out of the upper left corner of the tape. Move to the opposite end and cut another ½ inch by ½ inch notch out of the lower right corner of tape.

  4. Step 4

Fold the duct tape in half lengthwise. A small tab will stick out on each end. Smooth all wrinkles and air bubbles out of the tape.

  5. Step 5

Wrap the wrist band around your wrist. Attach the tabs to the band to secure it in place.

  6. Wide Wrist Band

  7. Step 1

Follow Steps 1 to 2 in Section 1.

  8. Step 2

Measure and cut a second piece that is 1 inch shorter than the first.

  9. Step 3

Center the second piece of duct tape over the first and stick them together; sticky side to sticky side. You will have ½ inch of overlap on each end.

  10. Step 4

Cut ½ inch by ½ inch notches out of both the upper left and lower right corners of duct tape.

  11. Step 5

Lay your wrist atop the band. Pull the ends together and attach by sticking the end tabs to the non-stick surface of the wrist band.
