Serve these spider pretzels for your next Halloween party. Be sure to make plenty of them, though, because these delicious, crunchy little arachnids will disappear in a hurry. Spider pretzels also make terrific after-school snacks.

From Quick Guide: Halloween Food
Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 round snack crackers for each spider pretzel
  • Smooth peanut butter or softened cream cheese
  • 8 small pretzel sticks for each spider pretzel
  • Raisins or dried cranberries
  1. Step 1

Spread a small amount of peanut butter or softened cream cheese on one round snack cracker and top it with a second cracker for a cracker sandwich.

  2. Step 2

Give the spider some legs by poking four pretzel sticks into each side of the spider's cracker body.

  3. Step 3

Dab two spots of peanut butter or cream cheese on the top of the cracker, and use it as glue to add raisin or dried cranberry eyes.

Tips & Warnings
  • Put the snack crackers, pretzel sticks, peanut butter or cream cheese and raisins or cranberries out on a big table, and let your little goblins create their own Halloween pretzel spiders.
  • Miniature cinnamon candies or M&M candies make great spider eyes.
  • A yummy variation is ice cream spider pretzels. Allow the ice cream to soften slightly and use it between the crackers in place of the peanut butter or cream cheese. Place the completed spider pretzels in the freezer to harden.
  • Decorate the spider pretzels with a drizzle of chocolate syrup.
