How to Make Pistachio Salad

Sweet and creamy pistachio salad is super simple to make and super delicious. Serve the old favorite for a family dinner or at a potluck, but be sure to make plenty of this fluffy treat, because it is guaranteed to disappear in no time. Does this Spark an idea?

  • Instant pistachio pudding mix
  • Frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • Miniature marshmallows
  • Canned crushed pineapple, drained with juice reserved
  • Chopped walnuts
  • Sliced bananas

Instructions

      Prepare the instant pistachio pudding according to the directions on the box.

      Fold the thawed whipped topping and the prepared pistachio pudding together in a large bowl.

      Add the crushed pineapples, miniature marshmallows, sliced bananas and chopped walnuts.

      Stir the pistachio salad until the ingredients are blended. If the salad is thicker than you would like, add small amounts of the reserved pineapple juice until it reaches the desired consistency.

      Chill the pistachio pudding in the refrigerator overnight and serve it cold.

Tips & Warnings

  • Modify the pistachio pudding slightly by substituting chunk pineapple for crushed pineapple, or by adding mandarin oranges, shredded coconut, fruit cocktail or maraschino cherries.

  • The addition of a small amount of sour cream will add a delicious and unique tang to the pistachio salad.

  • Omit the chopped walnuts if you prefer or substitute chopped pecans.
