How to Make Low Calorie Cole Slaw

Low-calorie cole slaw may be low in fat, but it's high in crunch and flavor. The addition of healthy carrots, green peppers and radishes make it a colorful addition to any meal. Top the cole slaw with tangy, low-calorie dressing.

Things You'll Need:

  • Water
  • Brown sugar, firmly packed
  • Seasoned rice vinegar
  • Red wine vinegar
  • Salt to taste
  • Canola oil
  • Finely chopped garlic clove
  • Shaker container with a tight seal

    Low-Calorie Cole Slaw

  1. Step 1

    Toss the shredded cabbage together with the shredded carrots, diced green pepper, diced onion, sliced radishes and diced jicama together in a large salad bowl.

  2. Step 2

    Add the tangy cole slaw dressing and stir it throughly to coat all of the vegetables.

  3. Step 3

    Cover the bowl tightly and chill it in the refrigerator for about 2 hours before serving. The recipe makes 6 servings of low-calorie cole slaw, but it can easily be doubled if you need to serve more people.

    Place all of the ingredients in a shaker container and close the lid tightly.

  6. Step 2

    Shake the container until the tangy cole slaw dressing is thoroughly blended.

  7. Step 3

    Pour the tangy cole slaw dressing over low-calorie cole slaw and toss it together lightly to mix.
