Instructions

    • 1

Cut your colored paper or ribbon into strips of similar length and width.

    • 2

Take one strip and make it into a circle. Let your kids help with the craft by allowing them draw or color on the strip. They can also write a holiday wish or say a holiday prayer.

    • 3

Staple the ends together to form a closed loop.

    • 4

Select a different color of paper or ribbon and string one end through the first circle. Staple the ends together to make a chain.

    • 5

Continue connecting strips to your chain until you achieve the desired length. You can make the chain long enough to be hung, or have each link represent a day until Christmas.

Tips & Warnings

  • Consider crafting a Christmas chain out of unusual items by tying plastic ornaments to a section of twine or ribbon. Instead of having your child tear a loop from the chain, have him remove an ornament and return it to the tree.

  • You can use tape or glue to secure the links of your Christmas craft chain if you'd rather not use a stapler.
