Instructions

Finger Slingshot
-
1
Select a rubber band approximately 2 inches in diameter. Be sure it's thick enough so it doesn't break when stretched.
-
2
Hook the rubber band on your index finger, at the joint nearest your fingernail.
-
-
3
Stretch the rubber band across to your middle finger, again hooking it at the top joint.
-
4
Spread your two fingers as wide as you can. Hold a small wad of paper just in front of the rubber band at the center point facing away from your body.
-
5
Pull back on the rubber band while holding the paper wad in place. Let go to launch.
Tree Branch Slingshot
-
6
Find a "Y" shaped fallen tree branch. The branch must be at least 1-inch thick to prevent breakage.
-
7
Break or cut the excess lengths off the branch. The two "tops" of the "Y" must be equal sizes, between 3 and 4 inches long. Trim the handle section 5 to 6 inches below the "Y."
-
8
Remove all bark from the tree branch. Sand it thoroughly to prevent slivers.
-
9
Cut horizontal guide notches ¾ inch down from the "Y" tops. Make the notches ¼ inch deep into the wood on one or both sides.
-
10
Wrap a heavy rubber band around the "Y," threading it through the guide grooves.
-
11
Adjust the rubber band so that both sides are pulled with equal pressure. Enjoy your cheap slingshot.
