Maybe study hall is a little too boring and you want to spice things up. Or maybe you're the office clown. Whatever the situation, you can entertain others by making ceiling darts that can stick in most penetrable surfaces.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 8 1/2 by 11 paper
  • Sticky Tack
  • Scissors
  1. Step 1

Create a paper square. Fold a sheet of paper in half and cut until you have a square. Rub the crease to sharpen it. Unfold the paper and refold it the other way to create an X shape in the middle. Make sure all your creases are sharp.

  2. Step 2

Lay the paper flat in front of you. With the X-shape creases, you now have four triangles on your square piece of paper. Fold the triangle on the left and the right side along the creases towards the middle to create a single triangle.

  3. Step 3

Open the sides of the triangle a bit so that the paper can stand on it's own in a diamond shape. Straighten the paperclip and shove it through the peak of the diamond shape.

  4. Step 4

Turn the paper over and secure the paperclip with a sticky tack. In a bind, you can always use chewing gum. Put the paper right side up again. Squeeze the paper around the sticky tack and paperclip so that you emphasize the tip.

  5. Step 5

Aim the tip of your dart at the ceiling and toss it up with a flick of your wrist.

Tips & Warnings
  • Try lighter and heavier papers and see how well they work.
  • Instead of a paperclip, try a staple or even a tack as the point of your ceiling dart. Sewing pins with plastic heads work exceptionally well.
  • You can also make a ceiling dart out of pencil stubs. Cut off the tip and tape a tack to the surface with the tip up. Tape a paper tail over the eraser to help the ceiling dart fly.
