Things You'll Need:
- 1 box baking soda
- 1 bottle vinegar
-
Step 1
Ventilate the bathroom. Run the exhaust fan for at least 20 minutes after each shower. Open the windows and bathroom door whenever possible.
-
Step 2
Wipe the plastic shower curtains after each use. Take a washcloth and wipe off any excess moisture. You can also keep a squeegee near the shower for this purpose.
-
Step 3
Spread the shower curtain out so that it can dry well. Loop the plastic curtain up and over the curtain rod to give it more air.
-
Step 4
Keep the shower curtain's hem away from the bathtub. Pull the curtain away from the wall of the tub so it can dry properly.
-
Step 5
Spray the shower curtain with a commercial shower-cleaning product once a day.
-
Step 1
Put the plastic shower curtains in the washing machine with some towels. Set the wash cycle for cold water. Wash the curtains, but do not dry them in the dryer.
-
Step 2
Hang the clean shower curtain so it is not touching the walls of the bathtub. Let it air dry.
-
Step 3
Mix one small box of baking soda with one small bottle of vinegar and about ΒΌ tub of warm bathwater. Set the shower curtain in the tub. Fill the tub the rest of the way with warm water. Swish the shower curtain around until the mold disappears. Rinse the curtains and hang to dry.
-
Step 4
Clean the shower curtains weekly. Replace plastic liners frequently.
