A fly dive can be executed in various ways. With the most common method, the diver needs a running start to the wooden plank, diving board or the edge of a dock. You will want to dive into deep water to avoid any injuries and spread your arms out wide.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate
Step1
Stretch before you dive. Prepare your body by practicing your breathing and doing some basic arm and leg stretches. Loosen the body up fully before making the dive.
Step2
Start the dive by running quickly to the edge of the diving board, plank or dock and head towards the water. When you get close to the end, jump onto the edge of your diving platform.
Step3
When you reach the edge tilt your body forward and lunge towards the water, using the power from your thighs and calves.
Step4
Make sure your arms are spread out like wings when you are in the air. As you get closer to the water, place your arms into a regular dive position, pointing down to the water.
Step5
Use your hands as you move up towards the surface. Kick with the legs and place your hands above your head to help you get up faster.

Tips & Warnings

  • Only do this jump if you are flexible and in good shape.
