Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Pay attention in class. Teachers usually announce tests and quizzes in advance. Even if a pop quiz is coming, the teacher usually gives clues. If you're paying attention you can know exactly when a quiz is coming.
Step2
Take notes in class. More often than not a teacher tells you exactly what she is looking for on the next quiz. Whether it's a chronology of the story or something in the way of character development, your notes can give you good clues to look for as you read the book.
Step3
Read the book. Yes, actually read the book. If you have stayed current on your reading assignments, this should be an easy task.
Step4
Skim the book. If you don't have time to read the book it's your only alternative. Read the first three chapters. Skim the middle chapters. Read the final two chapters.
Step5
Ask yourself what happened in the story. If you can't answer that question, go back and read more of the book until your understanding of the story is good enough to get you a good grade on your quiz.
Step6
Add information from your reading to your class notes. Make sure you are able to answer questions about those topics in detail. If necessary, read sections of the book again to get those details in your mind.
