So you're tired of being the one in Halo 2 Multiplayer who just runs around helpless, hoping you'll get a kill or two while your buddies take you out multiple times. If you're tired of being the Halo joke, some basic strategy can help you rack up the kills.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate
Step1
Pick the right type of player to use. This can be anyone except an elite. Elites don't work well because they drop their heads down to their chests, making them easier targets.
Step2
Practice in Multiplayer often. Practicing in Halo Campaign will not do you much good because the game play is different from Multiplayer.
Step3
Know the layout of all the maps, especially where the best weapons and vehicles are located so you can get to them first. Learning the best locations to shoot and surprise people is good, too.
Step4
Learn to use the vehicles to your advantage, knowing their strengths and weaknesses. The Scorpion is often a better tank than the Wraith. If you like the Banshee, avoid Warthogs and SMGs that can easily finish you.
Step5
Become a good sniper, because you can take people out with one good shot. Wearing dark clothes, finding the highest ground possible and using the sniper rifle or battle rifle are key in being a sniper.
Step6
Use two weapons in a combo if you're attacking at close range. The SMG combined with the pistol or plasma rifle work best. The plasma rifle is better against multiple opponents because the pistol's ammo runs out.
Step7
Develop your ability to use grenades, one of the quickest ways to kill. The secret is to throw the grenade where the player will be standing rather than where he currently is.

Tips & Warnings

  • Always aim for the head. This is the best way for a quick kill.
  • The double shot with a weapon like the battle rifle can work well. Hit the right trigger twice, and then the X button within one second to double shoot.
