Parkour is a method that trains you to move using nothing other than your own power when walking, running, climbing or jumping. A standing cat leap is a parkour move used to scale an obstacle. To perform a standing cat leap, you leap up and grasp the top of a wall to pull yourself up, much as a cat would.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Start by attempting to scale a wall that's 2 or 3 feet taller than you are.

  2. Step 2

Get a running start. The higher the wall you're trying to top, the more important it is to build some momentum.

  3. Step 3

Leap upward and reach for the top of the wall with both hands.

  4. Step 4

Place one foot as high up the wall as you can, propelling yourself higher. Use the other foot to climb the wall.

  5. Step 5

Move quickly. The faster you're moving, the higher you're able to climb using the standing cat leap.

Tips & Warnings
  • Parkour is an art form much like rock climbing. The more you train your mind and body, the better you'll be at performing the standing cat leap.
