How to Clean Dust From Under the Screen of Motorola Razr V3

The Razr V3 is a flip-style cell phone manufactured by Motorola. The Razr has an oversized screen that can be advantageous. But when the phone sits in your pocket or purse, dust may accumulate beneath the screen, and you will need to clean it periodically.

Things You'll Need

• Safety pin or metal nail file
• Soft, dry cloth

Instructions

1. Open the phone. Pry up the top left or right corner of the thin, plastic covering on the interior of the phone's flip-top, using either a safety pin, a metal nail file or your fingernail.

2. Continuing prying the cover up along one side. The cover attaches to the phone with adhesive. Try to leave the adhesive on one side of the cover intact so that the cover stays aligned and is easy to replace when you've finished cleaning it.

3. Lift the screen up at approximately a 45-degree angle.

4. Gently clean beneath the screen using a soft, dry cloth.

5. Lay the screen back down to its original position and apply firm pressure until it readheres to the flip-top cover.

Tips & Warnings

• If you happen to crack or otherwise break your screen while attempting to clean it, you can find a replacement screen at a cell phone store.

• Do not lift the screen too often or you will weaken the adhesive until the cover no longer sticks to the flip-top.

• Do not clean the screen too aggressively in Step 5 or you will scratch it.
