Gmail Drive works through Google Gmail service. Essentially, Gmail Drive establishes an additional drive to your computer, allowing you to create new folders you can copy and paste or drag files to. When you add a file, an email is sent to your Gmail account with the file attached.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Download Gmail Drive from one of the free download websites. Extract the setup file (Setup.exe) from the ZIP file and install it.

  2. Step 2

Open "My Computer" from your "Start" bar.

  3. Step 3

Verify that the Gmail Drive is located in the "My Computer" system. If it's not, extract the setup file ZIP file again and recheck "My Computer" for confirmation that it's been loaded.

Tips & Warnings
  • Create a filter in Gmail to automatically move your emails with GMAILFS in the subject line to a Gmail folder if you do not wish the files to clutter your Inbox.
  • Internet Explorer 5 or better is required to run Gmail Drive.
  • Google may block support for this program at any time.
