Scorpion solitaire is related to the spider and Yukon solitaire games. Classic scorpion deals face-down cards in the first four rows of the tableau, and Scorpion II deals the face-down cards in the last four rows. In both versions of Scorpion, only kings may be moved to empty rows, but in Wasp, any card can be moved to an empty row.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Discard the jokers from a deck of cards and shuffle the rest.

  2. Step 2

Create seven tableau rows in the following manner: Three face-down cards and four face-up cards on the first four rows and seven face-up cards in the next three rows. Save the remaining cards (the stockpile).

  3. Step 3

Move stacks of cards from one tableau row to another, making sure the bottom card of the row being moved is the same suit and one less in value than the top card of the row it's being moved to.

  4. Step 4

Continue moving stacks, uncovering face-down cards whenever possible. Empty rows can only accept kings as the bottom card of the stack being moved.

  5. Step 5

Move aces when they are the top card of any row to create four foundation rows. Play cards of the same suit in ascending order.

  6. Step 6

Deal the cards from the stock pile onto the first three rows when no more moves are possible.

  7. Step 7

Win the game when all cards have been moved to the foundation rows.

Tips & Warnings
  • To win the game, all face-down cards must be turned face-up as soon as possible.
  • Don't rush to play cards onto a foundation row. It's often wiser to keep them in play.
