How to Get the Fin Gleam Helmet in Oblivion

A goal for any "Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion" player is finding the best loot. The Fin Gleam Helmet falls under this category. It's a glass helmet, which is classified as light armor, and it contains the properties of Water Breathing, Night-Eye and Detect Life. Also, it is worth 2401 gold. If only you could find it.

Instructions

    • 1

Go to the city of Anvil. If you fast travel, go to the Anvil Lighthouse. It is not necessary to go into the city of Anvil, as the helmet lies outside of the city.

    • 2

Travel to the island off the west coast of Anvil. You'll encounter some mud crabs, which are easily dispatched. Also, keep an eye out for Nirnroot. There are at least two Nirnroot plants on this small island.

    • 3

Find the large rock on the northern part of the island.

    • 4

Stand near the rock. You should face westward toward the water with the rock a few feet to your right. Now would be a good time to save, in case you drown while looking for the helmet.

    • 5

Walk westward into the water. If you have a water-breathing spell, use it. If not, don't worry about it.

    • 6

Tread along the bottom of the water. You will walk down a steep slope, deeper into the water.

    • 7

Look for a large rock underwater. To the right of that large rock, you'll find a skeleton wearing a glass helmet. It is the Fin Gleam Helmet you seek, so take it.

    • 8

Equip the helmet right away if you're running out of air. One of the properties of the Fin Gleam Helmet is Water Breathing, and it will keep you from absorbing any damage due to lack of air.
