How to Import Pictures Using Picasa 2

After you take pictures with your digital camera you need to move them somewhere else to view and edit them. Picasa 2 is a free software program that allows you to store, edit, view and email your pictures. First, you have to import your pictures into Picasa 2.

      Download Picasa 2 from goodthings.ws. Now you can use Picasa 2 to store, view and edit your pictures after you import them.

      Begin by connecting your digital camera to your computer with the cable that comes with your camera. You will get a pop up box with a list of things to do.

      Select "Copy Pictures to Your Computer and View With Picasa 2" from the list of items. Picasa 2 detects your new pictures automatically and transfers them from your camera to Picasa 2. This is what import means.

      Click "Finish" when Picasa 2 imports all of the pictures. Save your pictures using the pop-up box that asks you to choose a name for your new pictures folder. Use a name that identifies the pictures, such as "family bbq." Use the date also.

      Finish by clicking finish again. You find your pictures in your "My Pictures" folder under whatever folder name you provided.

      Import pictures from your scanner, memory card or CD. Use the import button located at the top of the Picasa 2 screen. Click on "Import."

      Choose copy pictures from "Memory card," "Scanner" or "CD" from the list, and then repeat Steps 4 and 5.
