Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Learn your sport's rules and strategies before stepping onto the field. Coaches recognize and appreciate players who've done their research and know their positions inside and out before getting to tryouts.
Step2
Follow your coach's instructions during the tryouts. Coaches love talent, but they dislike showboating and selfishness. One of a player's most valuable assets is his willingness to cooperate and contribute to the team, so show this off.
Step3
Practice your position and skills as much as you can before tryouts. Games like soccer, basketball and baseball rely almost as much on individual technique as they do team effort.
Step4
Dress for the job you want. Even if some kids show up in tattered t-shirts and shabby shorts, wearing the right gear gives off an air of professionalism and commitment that coaches appreciate.
Step5
Give maximum effort on every drill and play. You can make up for a lack of talent or skill by working extra hard.
Step6
Relax during the tryouts and have as much fun as you can. Having a bright, positive attitude increases your appearance as a leader and helps the coaches see your value to the team. Also, relaxing is essential to performing your best.
