A bigspin flip is a skateboarding trick that can be attempted by the experienced skateboarder after she's mastered most other tricks. When done correctly, it looks impressive and can be altered to fit your skating style by adding other moves to the end. It takes some practice to complete a bigspin flip correctly every time.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Ride forward at medium speed with your front foot just above the middle of the skateboard and your heel sticking a little bit out. Your back foot should be in the ollie position.

  2. Step 2

Crouch down and stare at the area in front of your back foot. This will help your body rotation.

  3. Step 3

Pop the board up with you toes, applying pressure near the bolts on the skateboard. Try to point your front foot down during the flip and let your shoulders start your body's rotation.

  4. Step 4

Keep your feet clear of the skateboard during the flip. It may take some practice to keep them out of the way.

  5. Step 5

Drop down when you can see the grip tape on your skateboard, and then push your skateboard the final bit of the 180 degrees.

  6. Step 6

Land with your front foot in the same position it started out in and your knees bent.

Tips & Warnings
  • Its important to always wear full protective padding and a helmet when attempting any skateboarding trick.
  • Be careful not to land when your skateboard is on its side or you will fall. It helps to visualize the place your skateboard will land to prepare in advance.
