How to Make a Bic Pen Bow and Arrow

A Bic pen and a rubber band are all you need to take shooting rubber bands to the next level. Using the pen case as the bow and removing the inside of the pen to make an arrow, you can be shooting this across the room in no time. Making this pen requires a drill and a sharp knife, so don't let your children attempt making it on their own.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

• Bic pen
• Pliers
• Drill
• Paring knife
• Rubber band
• Tape

1. Grip the tip of the pen with a pair of pliers and pull it out of the casing. Also remove the capped end so you have a hollow casing tube for the bow.
2. Drill a hole in the middle of the casing of the pen with a small drill bit. Make the hole big enough for the inside of the pen to fit through.
3. Cut slits at the top and the bottom portion of the pen casing using a paring knife.
4. Place the rubber band through the top and bottom slits of the casing of the pen. Use tape to hold the rubber band in place on both ends.
5. Insert the pen through the hole in the middle of the casing. This will now become your arrow.
6. Pull back on the rubber band and the arrow at the same time and aim at your target.

Tips & Warnings

• Be extremely careful when drilling and cutting through plastic so you don't injure yourself.
• Never aim this bow and arrow at your own or someone else's face as serious injury could occur.
